Anyone ( I'm sure someone does) have experience w/ indirect fired w/h w/ bottom cold feed and top hot out w/ circ line.... will the circ line still work w/ out circulator asssist, for some reason, seems like it would need the pump, 1 floor ( basement / 1st floor) installation w/ 40 lateral feet and 8 vertical feet difference.???????

Gravity
You can run a gravity recirculation if your fixtures are higher then the indirect. You still need a swing check valve and you have to drill a small hole in the flapper of the check. The small hole helps starts the gravity flow .. A pumps is a sure thing if you have alot of rises and falls in the water pipe work .
P.S. The recirculation lines needs to be properly insulated under the Energy Codes...0
