in THE MAIN WALL
my photos are currently @ 302KB but i need to make them 15k I've tried a bunch of things with no luck
thanks in advance for any ideas, paul

    I don't know Jack 'bout computers.........but

    I have an Olympus (which Noel showed me how to use)camera and program. When you get to where the pics are stored, you might have a part on top of the page that says "Image" if i click on mine it then gives you choices. One is "resize"...then I just make it any size I want. Hope it helps dude! Mad Dog

    With my kodak 3.2 MP

    I can go into the "edit" function and then save them at 25%,50%,75%, or 100% resolution. If I am emailing them to someone, I usually save them at 50% resolution because of the time and memory it chews up. It is a small difference in picture quality if viewing them, but I would always print at 100% resolution. Hope it works for you, let me know how it turns out, or if you have those functions available.

    JPEG conpression

    You may have some photo software already there that allows you to pick the compression level of a JPEG file you can create. This will be expressed most likley as a quality (good, better, best) or maybe file size. You may be getting a JPEG from your camera. There is also fairly inexpensive or free software around for creating/manipulating JEPEG files. Search Google.

    Be aware that when you resave a JPEG to the same file your software may recompress. This will continue to degrade the stored resolution. Always keep a pristine copy direct from you camera at the highest resolution and use that only for a source file. If you might forget, make the pristine ones read-only.
