a radiant floor. The plumber came up to me and expressed concern that one of my tubes was close to his wax ring. I wasn't concerned because it is suspended tube and is not even touching the floor, but I want to be doubly sure. What is the reality here. In what cases should I be concerned. What if it was joist trak plates? Would it be a problem then? Thanks for any comments. WW

Use a foam
or rubber ring, cheap insurance. Nothing worse than sewer gas in the bathroom. Or a leak
I like the one from Predco best.

there are a bunch of different manufacturers making wax free rings today. Most supply houses have them, even the big boxes. Check out fluidmasters version http://www.fluidmaster.com/usa.html0
