CI vs freezing water pictures

Just thought I would show a few pictures of what we have been going thru with the cols spell. These cast iron radiators are mostly only three years old, some where original. The house is the job I use for my FAC site.

I was standing in the foyer when one of these puppies let go. I thought it was a drive by shooting.

freeze up

why the major freezeup? no one home and ran out of oil?

Home owners where on vacation

They had a caretaker come over on Tuesday who thought it was cold so he turned up the thermostates.

This house has twin Buderus Boilers oil fired.

Wendsday he thought it was still cold so he turned it up alittle.

The owner has told me she should have called a few weeks ago since she thought only one was firing.

Thursday the caretaker said it was Really cold so he put the heat to 80.

He Never Checked to see if the boilers where firing.

They Obviously wer'nt.

I had never been ina room when one blew out, it pretty loud.

I wish I had picutre of the room when I first got there, There was water frozen half way up the windows. The couch had a layer of ice over it so did the flate screen TV. really sad.
