Has anyone ever seen these installed or worked with them at all? Seems to have a limited market due to urban environmental issues.

You got to be willing to cut, haul and deal with a lot of wood plus that water furnace is not cheap John.
I have gotten involved in several John because the installers will not hook up to the traditional furnace or Air Handler (forced hot air or heat pump systems)They seem to be scared of "burning up the controls so they perfer I burn'em (not yet) The last one I did was set up about 25 yards from the home where you had room to work the wood, then a trench is dug to the home with 1 1/4" pex pipe installed. I installed a provided water coil in the supply duct work (asked about static pressure "oh we do it all the time" ok fine we shall see)WIred for the pump taco 007 and did the control work to run the pump and air handler fan off the thermostat. Solid state controls on todays air handlers are not designed to really do this takes a few relays and working off the line voltage side to make this all happen plus being able to call the heat pump and back up electric strip in should this gizmo fail or we run out of wood. But it does work. heats the house up quick John.
Best Wishes J. Lockard
