Steamer emptying!?

Have a client with a residential steamer that when it makes steam, with about 3/4 of the sight glass full of water, the entire boiler will empty and the LWCO will shut down the boiler for about 30 seconds until the water "returns!?" The process repeats itself continuously. Any ideas before I go to the residence?
