Cast Iron Baseboard layout?

in THE MAIN WALL
I have done a heat loss for a cast iron baseboard job I am doing and room (A) calls for 6,716 BTU's or approx. 12.5 feet of baseboard. Do you guys stay "tight" with that # or put a little more than the load calls for do no furniture or draperies they may be in the way?

    I would say it would depend on the structure. If it's tight , and well insulated you may get away with being a foot short.(don't try this with fintube baseboard!)

    Cast iron holds the heat a lot longer than alot of emitters, and if the place isn't a barn, I don't think the difference will be noticed unless the weather stays like it has been here for the last couple weeks. JMHO, Chris

    lot O' iron

    If your heat loss is done at 180f water rerun it at 140F Then put in a weather responsive boiler . the cast iron will be warm all the time. The comfort is the next best thing to a radint floor!!!!!
