shouldn't all boilers have a firematic to shut them down incase of fire. I know my old house oil furnace had one. but the gas powerpile system i have now does not have one. If it should have one, how would it be wired?

Check your gas code
See if it is required...

Fireomatic is not required
on powerpile systems. If you wire it in it will add unneeded resistance to the powerpile system and you may not have enough to energize the gas valve.
There is also not to be any manual shut offs on powerpile or any stairway switches.
If this is in the Rhode Island area it has probably been inspected at some time by the gas company and would therefore be wired correctly.0 -
Gas Co
Is coming next week to inspect for "Comfort Plan" (Yearly fee for middle of the night calls) I dont trust them for real service.0
