old expansion tanks

I'm trying to size a new diaphragm expansion tank(s) for a six story, 100 unit apartment building. The existing configuration uses three 220-gallon tanks (the old style, mounted at the ceiling; no diaphragm). How does one determine the acceptance volume of these things?
