Funky air valve

This is probably old hat for you guys, but I found this valve pretty interesting. Have we seen a lot of these out there?

  Here's a little bigger view--it says Richardson on one side and June, 1913 on the other.

  That's their main vent
  
  the check allowed vacuum to form. There's an adjustment screw on the other side for the thermostatic element. Nice find!

  did you find that? Did you take it off an old 3-in-1 Vapor/Vacuum/Pressure system? That's what it was designed for........
