How much sand do you allow over the radiant tubing for a 4" paver setup? Assuming at least 1" foam below, sand will be compacted for the base of the pavers, and then sand will be vibrated inbetween the pavers.

I've only seen one
pavers on sand project. The Evanston, Illinois Library has a drive/walkway access on the south side of the building. The tube was fastened to wire mesh and with as large as the area was they skip loaded sand over the tube and tamped it down. The hose is probably 2" to 4" average under the brick. I haven't heard any complaints about the project result. Tekmar snow melt sensor was set in a concrete "paver" to one side where it would work and stay clean. Check with you favorite manufacturer for the current spin on how to do it best.
