the professional choice as far as name brand and type as far as solder goes in the hydronic industry? I'm trying to offer my customers the best selection for the job. Thanks in advance, couldn't think of a better place to get field experience feedback.

Is that a lead-free or a 97/3 mix? Also, how do you feel about not using lead-free on hydronic systems? Pros vs. Cons?0 -
Bridgit and Blockade
I guess it's mostly what you get used to and what is on your suppliers shelves
The Bridigit has a nice "workability" I use it for soft solder joints. Great for loose fittings!
I'm really liking the new Blockade, also from JW Harris for my silver solder stuff. T-Drill joints mainly. Flows real nice and has a bit lower melt temperature compared to 6 or 15%.

I not sure what brand of lead free I use, Canfield? I even bust out some 50/50 on boiler side piping, especially doing baseboard retrofits near carpet and drapes. Or redoing piping on older systems when you're soldering close to another joint that prolly was done with 50/50. The lower melting temps may save you from causing another leak from nearby joints and keep from catching the drapes on fire.

Have also tried the blockade on a frustrating plumbing situation, was impressed with workability. By the way Eric, I picked up my Ridgid copper prep machine today....can't wait to play with it tomorrow! Thanks for the help.

Check out Wolverine Brass, I find their solder to flow just as good as silverbrite at about $2 less per roll---AL0
