Thermocouple

I have a customer with a Utica gas fired boiler, with a honeywell gas valve. Over the years it occasionally it needed a new thermocouple. Recently it has been burning out the thermocouple more and more often. This pass year I have already replaced the thermocouple three times. The flame appears to at the proper place, color and size.
Could it be a bad pilostat power unit?
Could the power unit be replaced without replacing the entire gas valve?

look for timmie mcelwains e-mail on the wall here
he is on the post about carbon monoxide, anyways, he has this chart about millivolts ive been using this year, works great. i follow his millivolt reading procedure, cross the readings over to his chart, and it tells me if the t-couple is okay or not, and also the power units status. his procedure and charts was really cheap, think just a few bucks. never knew there was so much info on a lowly thermocouple tho.0 -
