Using epoxy to connect copper pipe

I came across a residential boiler system the other day that had some kind of epoxy instead of solder for the pipe connections.
Anybody got any input?

I've seen it...

it's called Copper Mate Epoxy. It's approved for use in fire protection systems, which typically have higher requirements than heating systems.

I know the CDA did some research on it's use and found that it was excellent for avoiding flux acid burnout in soft water scenarios.

May be the wave of the future...
