twin 275 gallon oil tank piping

in THE MAIN WALL
i need the correct way to pipe two 275 gallon vertical above ground oil storage tanks . twin them together.

    twin tanks

    2" fill into tank 1, 2" transfer from top of tank 1 to top of tank 2 using swing joints & union, 2" vent from tank 2.
    I also suggest if you are using 2 pipe burner piping, you pipe into tank 2 not 1. possible comp ftg leak in tank 1, also tie tanks together at bottom. hope this helps, and if there are better ways out there, I would love to here them.

    We had this..

    discussion a week or two back.Two diff. opinions. Some liked the traditional way and others liked the "safer" approach. Two seperate fills in 1.25" steel and a common vent for the two tanks in 2" steel. Each tank with its own vent alarm and gauge. Both are code accepted. but I am more confident that the amt. of pressue exerted on that first tank in the traditional method is someday going to be too much and well lets just say it won't be pretty.     Oh NO ! This again?

    1 fill for each tank(1 1/4 or 1 1/2 ) share a common vent(2") would be my decision .Crossover line between the 2 at least 1/2" soft copper at the bottom . Largest filter you can fit , shared, after the equalizer, or at the very least a Garber type filter . JMHO. This is the way I would do it .Please gentleman ...no grief ! This IS the way I would do it . Chris.
