World record set...

For installing a radiant wall heating system in a HFH home. Well, OK, so nobody has ever timed it before, and this is a first time for radiant walls. It's still a record isn't it?

We pulled the tube for all six panels in less than 1 hours between the four of us.

This stuff goes QUICK and easy.

Blueprint for success

Here's the floor plan for the home. The boiler goes on the crawl space below the washer/dryer. The DHW storage tank goes next to the washer. The radiant walls are in red.

No silly cones...

HR, in as much as the system is outdoor reset with continuous circ and non electric TRV's I didn't see a need to slick cone the tubes. The runs are relative short, thereby reducing the potential for expansion/contraction.

I will also educate the consumer and tell them that if they want to play roller coaster games with the room temps that they can expect to hear their heating system complain about it.

Set it and forget it.

Outside walls

This week I did a bathroom wall.It is a North facing outside wall in the tub area, with a glass block window. My idea is to warm that ceramic wall tile for the person in the shower.
I didn't use metal plates like Mark did. I Routered out the studs, siliconed the wood, and put the tubing in. I used that expensive alum. bubble wrap type insulation behind it. Like Mark, I used a boat load of nail plates.
I thought of using metal plates, but couldn't figure out how to get them to work. Thanks Mark for the good pictures.

Armoirs etc...

would obviously block the direct radiation effect, however, convective will pick up and still deliver btu's, just not in a preferrable manner.

That is one of the detractors. The key is educating the end user. This guy doesn't own an armoir, I guarantee you.
