dunkirk q-90

in THE MAIN WALL
Could anyone see a problem w/pulling the make-up air from inside the building for a dunkirk quantum 90 (100k btu's). Had a real tough time just going threw the foundation for the exaust. Basement is old & large (plenty of air).

    combustion air

    I am not familiar with the Dunkirk you are installing, but I ran into a problem with a direct vent Burnham LE boiler by not bringing in out side air. When I went back and installed it properly according to the manufactorers guidelines every thing checked out. Dont forget the burner has a pre and post purge cycle which needs to be accounted for in your combustion air calcs.

    Q90 combustion air

    As difficult as it may be to punch through the outside wall, it is in fact required to draw combustion air in from the outdoors to insure a balanced flue system and proper operation of the boiler.
