Mini Steam Radiator WANTED

Options

I'm looking for a short, shallow depth steam radiator (& 1" valve) that'll fit behind a 5' clawfoot cast iron tub. A recent bathroom remodel didn't leave room for the original radiator. It's a small bathroom and I'm thinking that whatever heat any size radiator that I can fish back there will warm the tub too and heat the room adequately.

you could put some baseray back there. there are ways to set it up to take the steam in one end and drain the condensate out the other.

alternately you could run a hot water loop off the boiler to heat the bathroom.

Another idea if space is limited (I am assuming this is 1 pipe steam) is to bring the supply pipe up through the floor and put a ball valve on it if you want. Then put a reducing coupling on the valve with a nipple. The reducer could be 2" pipe x supply pipe size say 1" x 2" or 1 1/4" x 2". Then screw a piece of 2" pipe say 5'-6' long in the reducer to make a vertical radiator. On the top you could use a 2" pipe cap drilled and tapped for an 1/8" air vent or you could use a bushing and a coupling but that would be ugly.

you could even manifold a couple piece of pipe together horizontally as long as you give it some pitch, connect the far end together in to a vent one way or another. 2" or larger pipe with a little pitch would deal with counterflow just fine, the smaller pipe or passages in baseboard radiators not so much so it is better to make those pseudo 2 pipe.
