Old Vitodens 200 on the way out - New Vitodens 100 on it's way (in a week)
I'm a week out from our boiler being replaced and we are limping along till the contractor shows up. A couple weeks ago I posted about the fault codes that were showing up (O2 & A4) multiple times a day and decided to replace rather than fix after 22 years. The boiler was operating in DHW only mode. A week or so ago after an O2 fault the machine was not exactly resetting smoothly and for some reason I thought to turn on the DHW/space heating mode and see what happens. It hasn't faulted since but both branches seem to have some heated flow happening all the time. As I remember the DHW should be off unless there was a call to heat up the tank. I do remember that if space heating was on you'd always feel the LLH being warm. Not that it really matters much other than my own curiosity, but does this behavior possibly point to a secondary problem beyond the variable speed pump that was originally diagnosed as the problem.

if both branches are actively flowing water simultaneously, and this is the style with 4 hydronic connections underneath. that would indicate the diverter valve being in the center position, where you can flow through both sides at the same time. this is not a standard position for the diverter to be in during heating or DHW production so that would indicate more than likely a physical problem in the diverter valve that causedit to get stuck in the middle when switching. if your boiler doesn't have 4 hydronic pipes connected underneath then you probably dont have the diverter and this doesnt really apply
