intertherm mac 1378 furnace pilot knob & light help

hi there, i have this machine in my home, this knob is turned and i dont know what way its supposed to be and i cant find a manual online. (the knob got turned so now im worried and donw know which way to go.)

i also cant seem to figure out how to get the pilot running.

    Aren't there lighting instruction on the unit ? I believe the control in the picture below is in pilot position. Not sure what the index point is for the Gas type select. Maybe clearer pictures from different angles would help.

    i did take a look at that thread, but i think i might just not be smart enough to figure it out— i did try to follow the instructions on the machine.

    If I had to guess the Red circles indicates the index mark for their respective knobs. This may be confirmed by rotating the knob through its travel noting where the labeling indexes. The On, Off, Pilot knob usually has a rotation stop so it won't keep turning. The gas type selection knob may also have a rotation stop also, but I am not certain.

    I would set the gas type selection knob to the appropriate gas type. Set the On, Off, Pilot knob to the pilot position, like it is in the picture. Push the knob in towards the gas valve's aluminum body. While holding it in light the pilot. Hold the knob in for 30 to 60 seconds while the thermocouple warms up. Release the knob, if the pilot goes out you may need a new thermocouple (also try again). If the pilot stays lit turn the knob to the On position.
