How is Lbs. steam/hr. converted to BTU/hr.?

    It will depend on the pressure of the steam because higher pressure steam will be at a higher temp.

    If it is low pressure steam under 15 psi use 970 btu/lb of steam. Everyone rounds it off to 1000btu/lb which is close enough.

    Other than that look for a steam chart on the internet you don't have to calculate anything. It will give you the BTU/lb at different pressures. I found one see the attached

    Use the latent heat column. The change of state is the useable heat
