There are recessed rads available. Wether they would match what you have is a different matter0

I have a house full of the exact same, I'm considering converting to hot water.
Are these tube type? or column?
They're beautifully recessed and its obvious it was state of the art in 38' and really can't imagine replacing.
just not very efficient
