How to Install Common Maker

Trying to install common maker. Need guidance on which wires go where. And if the receiver should be installed at the board or at the splice in photo 3.

I never heard of a "common maker". But I think I know what you mean…
I don't think that device is needed at all. It looks like there should be enough wires (conductors) on the existing thermostat wire up at the thermostat. Just pull the wire out of the wall and you will likely see the blue wire un-used. That blue wire can be connected to the thermostat C terminal, and also same blue wire connected at furnace. Looks like the blue wire in furnace is un-used and wrapped around the t'stat cable. This can be connected at same orange wire nut where the other blue and red are tied together
