Okay Circulator Alternative?
I've acquired an open box Lochinvar KHB155N (Knight) as part of my oil to LP project coming up this summer. Lochinvar uses and provides a Grundfos UPMS20-78F circulator for the primary loop which my system will have, in my situation I have to come up with providing my own. I can get a very good deal on a Resideo PCVF-ECM2020.
The boiler will be controlling the primary circulator speed through it's 0-10V analog output, both of these circulators have that input ability. The Grundfos max is listed at 16 GPM @ 25.6' MHP, the Resideo is listed at 20 GPM @ 20' MHP. What do you guys think of this alternative? Any Pro or Con experiences with either?

good question, the UPMS20 is an OEM circulator for Lochinvar. It may have a specific algorithm to operate with the boiler. Or the 0-12 VDC signal may just ramp it up and down based on return temperature? That might be a question for Lochinvar
I believe the boiler will work with a properly sized fixed speed circ, piped with a separator or primary secondary, so the Resideo has the capacity.

Thank you Bob, good point. Though the mechanical comparisons are similar, electrically there may be more to the Lochinvar/Grundfos marriage. I'll send them a note, I did see a wall of Resideos in use not long ago, the displays alternating between Watt usage and GPM's is a pretty neat feature. I'll also see if I can dig into type of materials used on internals, I've got time.
