Main Vent Working Correct?

Options

https://youtube.com/shorts/nTiwyQ7Fu4A?si=8eymlcsYhuyvFyx6

This is one of two Gorton #2 vents, other is on the end of the other steam main. Question I have is this vent is a lot louder than its partner. My system is running up to 2 psi before pressuretrol kicks out.

I am looking a swapping to a vaporstat as I want the system to run at 1 to 1.5 PSI once all steam traps have been replaced.

Thoughts?

Vents don't always vent at the same rate. Let the boiler cool so it hasn't run in a while. Then start it up . Hold your hand on the supply pipe. When your hand is ready to melt start timing. Go to each vent and see how long it takes to get steam to the vents. Ideally you want steam to get to the ends of both mains at about the same time and the quicker the better. If one main is a lot slower add another vent.

Then balance with the radiator vents.

Understood. Tomorrow all steam traps are being replaced. I will reassess after that.

Don't let it cool too much.
