Strange deposit in Firebox.
I haven'tI seen this yet the blue material in the picture was fairly crumbly. Anybody know what it is?
It wasIt was in a fairly neglected will MacLean gold probably hadn't been cleaned in six or so years at least. It wasn't plugged just good and dirty

copper. where it came from, not as easy to tell. maybe. nickel can also be that color. perhaps it is the dye from rodent bait and something was building a nest in there. was it someplace where it wouldn't have got hot enough to burn?
maybe a piece of scotchbrite someone dropped in there?

That boiler probably hasn't been properly serviced in a decade. The stuff on the bottom is probably sulfur, and fuel oil has been ultra-low-sulfur for at least the past ten years.
