Cleaning and painting recessed cast iron convector/radiator

in Radiant Heating
I have these recessed cast iron convector/radiator and they are looking rather dingy. Is it ok to paint these? Should I strip the paint off before repainting? How do I clean these?

Asking because I am a total noob and I have searched everywhere and could not find a lot of information about this type of convector/radiator. I have attached a couple of pics. These might be American Standard Sunrad convector/radiators. Or at least they looked like the one from a heating museum article -- https://heatinghelp.com/heating-museum/american-standard-radiators-and-convectors/

    I used a wire brush and wet/dry vac to get all the dust and loose paint off before hitting it with Rust-Oleum high heat enamel. If you're already doing wall work nearby, you might want to deal with any stucco crack repair at the same time—it’s a pain to go back and fix later once everything’s painted and cleaned up.

    Yes, clean them well, lightly sand if needed and use high-heat metal paint, stripping old paint isn’t always necessary.

    Looks like this question was posted back in 2023, but noting for anyone finding this in search results or something: test old paint for lead before you brush or sand it, especially if you have kids or pets in the house. Your local hardware store should carry test kits.
