I have a Veismann 100 boiler. 6 zones and Grundfos Alpha 2 pump set to Auto Adapt. All slantfin baseboards except one zone with hydronic kick heaters. Ever since we moved into the house 2 years ago its been set to auto adapt. It seems like when its really cold out the largest zone that is all baseboard never gets up to set temperature. Especially if other zones are calling for heat. On warm days its less noticeable but it still seems like the baseboards are cooler when other zones are calling.

Would changing the pump settings be any help?

There is no harm in putting it in one of the fixed speeds at those cold conditions, see if that catches the load. If the display indicates a GPM increase, that will boost output some.

The AutoAdapt function was all good in theory, but pretty poor in reality. It keeps slowing flow trying to minimize usage until flow is almost non-existent. I like the Alpha for its intended purpose, but that AutoAdapt needs to disappear IMO. Switch it over to one of the constant pressure functions and monitor performance, then adjust as necessary.
