Removing Steam Radiators
My company i work for bid a job to remove 3 steam radiators from a system to make way for an addition where there will be a forced air system installed. Im tasked with removing the steam radiators. My question is if it is a two pipe steam system is there anything that needs to be done to the pipes or can I simply cap them? Also will removing 3 radiators from the system cause any future problems?

Just cap the pipes. The downside is the boiler may short cycle with the radiation down sized.
What % of the radiation are your removing? Taking 3 out when you only have 8 is an issue. Taking 3 out when you have 15 not so much.
Gas or oil fired? The boiler may need to be investigated to see if it can be down fire.

@Snowman56 , don't junk the radiators. Someone will want them.

When you removed the rads, do the favor to the future historians/owners of the house and put a date on the cap in case in the future they decided to open up the caps and add the rads again. It was a pleasant surprise to find out where my house was subdivided into two apartments (the room with removed radiator was turned into kitchen in 1989).
