New Boiler Needed
Any recommendations for a new Boiler to supply radiator heat, plus hot water in New York? (cold winters). I use Fuel Oil. A friend installs System 2000, but I don’t know if it’s the best choice.

i assume it is hot water and not steam? EK is great and can be a good investment but there are also lots of less expensive options, it depends on how long you're going to own in and what kind of heating load you have and a few other things.

Thank you for your post, @rathjar , I'm glad your friend has placed his confidence in Energy Kinetics. The first question we'd like to ask is "Why are you doing this?". From there, the forum and I can help offer solutions that will best match your specific needs. As @mattmia2 noted, we do not offer steam boilers, only hot water.
Overall, all of our product are designed for underserved markets and are proven 30 year boilers. Without knowing your specific needs, here is a quick overview:
The System 2000 Frontier delivers the best efficiency, super quiet operation, and exceptional hot water for chimney vented systems (combined efficiency higher than typical condensing boilers and quietness are underserved in the oilheat boiler space; this boiler achieves both). Nearly all component parts are available through wholesale distribution, and the energy manager has a limited lifetime protection plan for the life of the equipment.
The Ascent Combi is designed to upgrade tankless coil boilers and does not use a hot water tank. It does not deliver as high efficiency as the System 2000, but it has much higher combined heat and hot water efficiency than all tankless coil boilers. It also delivers continuous hot water up to almost 4 gallons per minute, so it is far and away much better than all tankless coil boilers. The underserved market here is higher efficiency, whisper quiet operation, and exceptional hot water production. If you have a hot water tank, we like to say keep a tank, and go with the System 2000 Frontier.
If your chimney is at the end of its service life, we have sidewall vented models in each with the Resolute RT (which has a hot water tank), and the Ascent Plus Combi (no hot water tank).
For a cast iron radiator system, we effortlessly integrate with a primary secondary piping connection, for the best flow and more even heat.
If you'd like, PM me and we can put you in touch with your territory manager to help answer specific questions you may have.
Best,
Roger
