Where to find parts

hi

Where can I buy part Damper control:

Model No. RVGP-KS   RVGP-KSF

And

AQUASTAT RELAY TYPE. L8148E

And is there a way to reset the quasar?

The damper control microchip to verify damper indeed is open broke and all of a sudden the Aquastat relay went out and operated only if manually triggered it .

I would appreciate feedback on this issue.

i think something was lost in translation here but vent dampers have end switches on them that prove that the damper is open. both the switches and the motor that move the damper wear out after a few decades and don't reliably open the damper ad close the switch and need to be replaced every few decades.

i would double check the aquastat relay and the damper switch, it is likely only one is bad but both will prevent the boiler from firing so it is easy to get confused if you aren't very careful in how you test.

You don't want a L8184E anymore. There are electronic versions that are less expensive and provide more efficiency features.

    BUT

You don't want to replace anything until you define and diagnose the problem. (unless you can afford a parts cannon, they are very expensive).

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Maybe this will work for you, if you are sure that is the issue. If the damper was connected to the L8148E Aquastat the L8148E needs the damper connected an operating correctly for the L8148E to work.

The Field/Effikal damper motor replacement part # is GVD-RMA. It mounts to the damper with two sheet-metal screws, and will fit all recent dampers of these brand names. If you're not sure what you have, post a pic here.
