Now has baffles from factory. No very robust for where they have to live.

I see heat distortion to the point that they can not be removed and sooting issues from there.

Anybody else?

It got a complete makeover. I don't see any baffles though. I wonder if the burner door swings open wide enough with that framing.

The way I see it Water or Steam they both have the baffle, item #17. Sooting issues ? Does the boiler need a tune up ?

Maybe the baffle is for low firing rates?

WBV's always tuned very well. I figure the baffles are to drop temps to get "better" Effcy numbers.

Not even going to get into condensation discusion.

    What is figure 8.1? Correct castings but, 16 17 19 20?

Oh! The really new model. But no baffles..

I give up, As long there is no subcription fee , bluetooth BS. Baffles are easy to deal with.

I've never seen the new design in real life. I wonder if a Riello with its cover fits under the boilers burner cover. No more front return either.

I've seen these baffles in new WBVs and it seems like they cause problems. Over fire draft is positive unless I remove them. It's hard to get clean combustion with them in. My company just removes them when we come across them. We treat them just like vent dampers, we keep the vent dampers open to avoid problems when they get stuck open. Both items are unnecessary things added in a attempt to gain a tiny bit of efficiency.
