Spill Switch Question
OOn A Weil-McClain CGa3 the manual shows and says the Spill Switch is to be oriented toward the front of the boiler.
Is there a specific reason? Why can it not by in a different orientation?

As long as the factory wiring reaches with slack, it can go in any degree. If the front of the boiler is at 6 o'clock, mounting the Spill Switch at 12 o'clock is safe, but the wiring won't reach. And even if it did, you don't want it going around the hot flue pipe.

There is enough wire for it to be located at 3 or 9 o'clock. But Weil-McClain was adamant in an email that it need to be at 6.
I would like it at 6or9 so it is out of the way of a manifold.

IDK why that is. Its not like a backdraft knows to go to the front of the boiler. Did WM say why they were adamant?

No,he just made reference to the manual and said it must be oriented as shown.
