Hi,
I have discovered I have an unlined or flue in my chimney. Do I need to add a chimney liner to vent my steam boiler?
Thanks!

It normally is required by code .

Manual says use type b vent, do you recommend an insulated one?

You need to talk to a chimney contractor. They will know what the Codes in your area require. Around here, they usually install a stainless-steel liner that goes in as one piece, so there won't be any leaks.
