Strange Noise

Hi. I have been trying to figure out this noise. I can’t share video here because this platform doesn’t let me but willing to connect with whomever would like to share some videos of the noise. Can’t tell if it’s coming from water pipes, valves, or potentially my boiler. I did notice when boiler is not heating, the noise comes up but is intermittent. I have Buderus propane powered boiler and hot water based closed hydronic heating system. Currently, I only use zone to heat water for hot water storage tank. Any help/advice where to start is appreciated.

Hi, Can you post the video on another platform and link to it? That is an approach others have used 😉

You may have to camp out in the utility room a bit and shut things like the boiler off (no more noise) or stimulate things by running the hot water, dish washer, etc. (for example) to locate the noise.

As @Larry Weingarten stated there is a bunch of internet places that can host your video, then just post the link here.

If the heat isn't on yet, does the noise happen when the water heater is recovering? It sounds like either a circulator, or a cricket on cocaine. Is the domestic hot water ok? Are you able to keep your hand on the indirect circulator while its running? You can put a screwdriver to your ear with the business end on the circulator to pinpoint it.

I think I heard more 'noise' from the phone (or camera) being hand held than anything else.
