Good video. Great advice. I've only got an oil fired boiler to heat my small house but good things to do as a checklist each time I go to the basement to check the boiler.

Great video Ray that should be used as a teaching lesson. With any new hire, I always instructed them to keep their eyes and ears open when approaching and entering a boiler room or mechanical space. You need to learn just what sounds are normal and which ones are not. Enter the room and take a 5-10 minute walk around the room. Do not just go to the item that is the problem. Listen for any unusual noise or sound, look for any unusual happening such a steam or a vapor cloud that should not be there, let your nose detect any unusual odor. That 5-10 minute search can tell you of many items that need attention now or very soon and could possibly save you from creating a bigger problem.
