Air conditioning hog farm offices

I have a client that has hog farms. We do the air conditioning and heat for the offices.
As you know these types of farms have an extremely corrosive environment. Air conditioning equipment, especially the copper that is in them detoriates quickly. We have in the past set the outdoor units on the roof to get as clean as air as possible. Sometimes that does not happen.
Is there equipment on the market that lasts longer than others? Are the aluminum coils the way to go?
The Pert -al-pert line set material should help with the refrigeration lines, but we still have the outdoor and indoor coils to worry about.
Most units become junk in a time period of one to five years.
Any suggestions form the HVAC contractors that need to deal with these farms?
Thank You ,
Andy

Place the outdoor equipment on the roof
I worked in a corrosive atmosphere also. Any coastal region, near salt water will cause standard outdoor equipment to fail within 5 years. There are several manufacturers that sell all aluminum outdoor coil units as “Coastal Climate” models. Carrier and International Comfort Products (ICP) offered a copper/aluminum fin outdoor unit that was sprayed at the factory with an anticorrosive coating and advertised those as “Coastal” equipment. There is also an aftermarker coating that you can purchase. I used it once and recommended the customer get the system recoated every 3 years or so. I never heard from them after the original sale. So maybe the equipment lasted longer and didn’t need repairs.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Talk with the MFG of the equipment you are using.
Carrier, Trane and probably some others can have the coils coated before they build the units.
