Recessed radiator
Need to find how to remove the grill to clean and paint. Any help is greatly appreciated!

the bottom part is the only part that is a grill, the rest is solid cast iron. What you are looking at is the radiator. some have a little panel to access a steam vent but yours looks like it has hot water trim. i think the bottom grill just snaps in but others will know better than i do.

The best way to paint that radiator is just to do it in place. The bottom pressed sheetmetal grill can be removed but is more hassle than it is worth. If you are looking at the two flat head screws on either side about half way up… there are plugs that should not be removed because water will pour out of those openings, if you are successful at removing them which is unlikely
Put a drop cloth on the floor and wire brush any loose paint or rust that may have accumulated. Then a coat of enamel with a brush or spray can.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
