Horizontal Vent Buderus G124X?
Hello All!
I am having some chimney water leaking issues on my old farmhouse that has a G124X boiler as its exclusive heating source. Weird chimney detail coming out of a metal roofed dormer near a weird flashing detail!
Anyway, I’d like to eliminate my chimney coming out of the roof in order to fix the leaking problem. This would mean I need to horizontal vent my boiler. (If that’s an option?).
I’m having a hard time finding exact specs on this other than the flue pipe needing 1/4” rise per foot (page 26 #4) to the chimney.
I have an email into the company but I’m reaching out here. Thank you in advance!

So the answer would be a hard no. Fix the leak. That boiler needs to vent into a vertical chimney.

I think that the Buderus could be side wall vented with a Fields or tjerulund.

13 or 14 feet with how many bends? You better get all your ducks in a row.

could you elaborate on that? I guess I’m still struggling to see where it says it needs vertical venting. Obviously it says quarter inch per foot of horizontal as it reaches the chimney. But do you have to to reach the chimney?

let me double check. I believe I only need one 90° conversion and then from there I could run straight out of the rim board between the floor joist.

Yes. The reason only "chimney" is mentioned, leads you to the fact that it's the only correct means of venting. I don’t believe Buderus has a supplement. Otherwise it would have been noted.
And I still don't understand how removing a brick chimney is easier than fixing a roof leak. Don't get me wrong, I almost committed justifiable homicide trying to find and fix a roof leak. But taking down a chimney?
