This is a boiler we installed 29 years ago for the mayor of Oakland that has since been turned into a halfway house; still going strong. We clean the heat exchanger every 5 years. Remove all the burners, cover all the electrical, lift the collector up to expose the finned tubes and wash it down with high pressure water.
8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

So is there any insulation, board or otherwise, that the water would wash away?

There's some rigid insulation below in the burner section. It gets wet, but doesn't disintegrate.

What is that light? I have some that use makita and Milwaukee batteries but i haven't seen standalone rechargeable lights that didn't look like junk.

It's a Bosch 12 volt with a magnet and carabiner.
