CI Boiler Vent Types

As I continue to expand my knowledge base I would appreciate some help understanding atmospheric venting on NG boilers.
When I look at Weil-McClain units they have a draft hood with a "mushroom " then a vent damper. This morning I was looking at Crown Boilers and they do not show this part but have a "Draft Diverter".
Is one preferable over the other? Any disadvantages?
Thanks!

One looks prettier. They do the same job, it's just that one is integrated with the boiler and the other is a separate piece.
6 of one, half dozen of the other.

Not after looks!😀
The reason is the overall height. Crown boiler info mentions that this setup is beneficial if there is a height challenge. I was looking at a Weil-McClain but after installing a 90 degree elbow on top of the draft hood assembly I might have a chimney thimble dimension problem.

Then go with Crown or Peerless.
