PEX to boiler feed

I'm looking at repiping the potable water lines through my house with AquaPEX, a non-barrier tubing. There are plenty of posts here that talk about barrier/non-barrier tubing within a closed hydronic heating system, but I want to verify that it's safe (for the heating system) to use adjacent to a closed loop hydronic system, such that I connect up to the pressure reducing valve feeding the boiler, but use PEX nowhere on the heating side of the valve?

I assume this is just fine given that the only reason supply water would be entering the system is if there were a leak or planned draining, and that fresh supply water would be oxygenated regardless.

    You can indeed use regular Aqua PEX as a water supply tubing to serve your auto feed. The heat Pex is manufactured as a tubing for use on a heating systems. A regular PEX type tubing is used for water supply. In reading your post, you will be supplying make-up water to your boiler via. your water supply. Pex is fine there as long as you install it away from the heat source to help prevent the Pex from melting.

    A good transition between the two is to use a auto feed and BFP combination pictured here.

    I like to keep plastic pipe 5' away from the boiler or near-boiler piping to be safe. I use copper when closer.
