High pitch noise from Beckett burner
hello,
I have a Beckett AFG oil burner that is not making a high pitch noise (not on every cycle so i cant reproduce it every time). Last week i did have a lockout , my oil was somewhat low so i attributed it to that, reset it and it hasnt locked out since then (oil was delivered 12 hours later). I dont know if the noise was there before or as a result of low-ish oil, although my de-aerator always had liquid in it.
Seems more pronounced on the middle/left side , i am wondering if its the blower or the pump.

Possibly the strainer in the pump is dirty from low oil in the tank. How old is your tank?.
You may need a tech to diagnose.

tank is original from 86’ . It does have a filter at the tank and then at the de-aerator.

Easy way to determine what it is. Remove the two 3/8" bolts that hold the oil pump in place and pull the pump off the burner. Restart the burner and see if the motor is making the noise

will i have to re-prime or any additional steps after reinstalling it?

Nope. Just reconnect the pump to the motor with the plastic coupling. It should come apart and go back together very easily.

have been reading and seems the coupler could also be the cause for some unusual noise. I would have to pull the motor, blower to get to it. Any issues, additional steps to do pre/post re-installing?
