Steam Trap Found on Broomell Vapor System
Can anyone identify this steam trap found on a original Broomell Vapor System? I found on a radiator hung in the garage ceiling which was located on the opposite side of the house from the boiler. Attached are other photos of the system too.

Look here under broomell patents
About halfway through 909737 it's like a mini trap.
Patent says it was for when a radiator was far away from the boiler. Looks like it's installed upside down. The "bulb" should be on the bottom and filled with condensate.

Actually, that's their standard water seal.
The device in question is actually a unique form of thermostatic trap. We ran into a similar system in Baltimore:

That fitting at the bottom of the radiator provides a water seal (acts like a steam trap) at the upper portion of the fitting is a small hole that lets the air out of the radiator. every once in thee blue moon that hole can get plugged up. That's what the plug on the top is for. it gives you access to clean the fitting!
