HOT WATER BASEBOARDS, Stumped
Some info…. The return on the 2nd floor is always warm even when heat is off, the return on the 1st floor is cold when heat is off. (1st floor is in or under a slab) The interesting part is that every once in a while the heat on the 2nd floor skyrockets to 80 degrees even when the thermostat is off. I have only noticed this when it gets warmer outside. This has happened 3 or 4 times in 2 months. Other than that, this 12 year old system has worked perfectly with no issues. Any thoughts?

They are green Taco circulators. Both were replaced last season.

If not in the circulators. Why would this issue appear after 12 years?
Couple more pics of the backside of the system.

Thank you everyone! Flow Checks are missing in the circulators that were replaced.
Installed: Taco 007-F5 > I need: Taco 007-F5-7IFC0 -
If the date codes on the 007-F5 are after 2003, then the discharge flange should accept an IFC. The part# for the IFC would be 0010-025RP. No need to purchase a complete pump with the IFC.
Hope this helps.
