Where to Place Purge Valves on Radiant Zones with Mixing Valve?
Hello,
I have a hydronic system with a couple of radiant zones with mixing vales. Where would you place a purge valve on each zone? Would you place them on the return side of the zone right before the mixing valve? Thanks in advance.

That is one way to do it. Most manifold sets come with a purge valve station on one side or both sides. You just need a place to let the air out of the individual loops while putting the water into the other end of the loop. each loop then needs a valve to isolate it from the water flow of the one that you are purging, then close that valve on the loop that you finish purging ans open the valve to the next loop.
Do you plan on using a manufactured manifold or are you going to build your own?

One purge station in the near boiler piping will do the whole system. Mixing valves are not an issue to push through assuming you have the proper valving around them

Yes on the return. This allows you to purge at the valve location, if the manifold is remotely mounted in the house, for example.

Can I put the purge valves right after the return side manifold for the radiant loops? Below is an example of the manifolds I have for the supply and return side of the loops.
