Honeywell Vaporstat
Hey guys. The last couple of vaporstats (L408j1009) purchased are really off. I usually just send them back and get a warranty replacement that works a little better. I know they have always been an issue but has anyone actually repaired them in the field? I'm trying to cut a system off at 8ozs and can't get anywhere near there. Thanks

Hello Paul S_3,
IMO if you actually want precision control that is probably more reliable than the Honeywell stuff, set up a Dwyer Photohelic (or the like) to do the actual control. Keep the Honeywell stuff (set a bit higher) to appease the inspectors.

I threw in the towel and got a mercury one off the bay.

That's exactly what I did. An old one with the tall diaphragm. It's very precise, was new old stock, and cost half of what a new one costs. I also got a mercury manual reset pressuretrol, which is so precise I have it set at 1 psi which is B-dimension pressure for my system. If you can find a mercury one that is the way to go I think.
