Carlin EZ gas conversion burner
Hi. Received call from customer today. Burner is bit less than 2 years old. Ran without issues for 1.5 seasons. Set up to spec. Customer turns on power to boiler beginning of the season, and gets lockout message, saying no gas. Pushes reset button and get the message gas detected, in stand by. Shuts power to boiler, turns back on and exact process repeats itself. Reset.... Same same. Have not actually been on site. Just looking for suggestions ideas and clues. Thanks in advance.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Bad control. Replaced and we have liftoff.

That's unusual. We have a whole bunch of EZ-Gas burners out there. Even the old-style controls (without the display) lasted longer than that. Maybe a power surge?

Thats what I was wondering. Customer says that there were no power surges. Nothing else seems to have been affected. Was installed in 2022. Maybe part of the post covid manufacturing Rush.

HSI? The only Carlin EZ gas burners I see are the ones equipped on the EK boilers. They always have spark ignition. I didn't know they could be equipped with HSI as well. Interesting.

Spark ignition on the EZ gas. Issue was the primary control.

Its been a while since I saw an EZ-Gas, but I remember HSI as well.
