Tubing type
Hello, I've found this old tubing in a radiant floor system and I'm not sure if anyone else has seen it before? I'm trying to figure out the lifespan of this tubing.
I don't see the actual lettering of PEX on it anywhere. Thanks!

It should say directly after the "1/2" lettering if you can find a piece of tubing section.
8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab0 -
As far as how long this will last… I think alien anthropologist will be looking at our fossil remains 20,000 year from now and that tubing will still be in perfect condition. Kind of like margarine, that lower priced spread.

Doesn't look like oxygen barrier pex though. Does it say oxygen barrier anywhere? If not, it should not be used with anything steel in the loop.

DIN 4726 is a standard for an oxygen barrier

It has the ASTM, UPC and NSF listings, that is about as good as it gets for pex radiant tubing.

This is not in Canada, this is in a system in Michigan.

@MichaelT said. "Thats my hope"
What make you so special that the anthropologist will be looking at your fossil remains anyway?

It was manufactured in Canada 10/06/03, it is 1/2". It is printed right on it.
And it is O2m barrier as it has the DIN standard printed on it, and shows Oxy-Perm
.
The industry claims 30- 50 years, maybe more. In your low temperature, low pressure system, 50 years is believable.
