Service lifetime of a Viessmann CU3A?

Seems pretty robust for a mod-con.

For those that have installed or serviced these, comments appreciated on reliability and expected lifespan.

Also, does Viessmann maintain parts for older units?

water quality , maintenance, burner adjustment, number of on off cycles , etc. 20 years is certainly reasonable,

I can still get parts for the first viessmann boilers that we sold here in northern michigan. proper venting, fuel, and water quality are the key to keeping the CU3A healthy for a long time. They advertise that one heavily about the heat exchanger not needing to be cleaned, while that is mostly true I would still open the burner and inspect it after the first heating season, and then every other year on natural gas. Service tech should pay extra attention to the flame sensor and ignitor, and the gap between the electrodes and burner mesh, combustion analysis to confirm the unit is running well after confirming the heat exchanger and burner chamber are in order.

Water quality as in pH, turbidity, dissolved solids? Resin DI column on the inlet?

I imagine with iron pipe I'll need a magnetic separator?

Would like to get 30 years if possible or is that just not in the cards?

CU3A is still a production boiler - parts availability is not a concern.

Sure, now. 30 years from now? Seems Viessmann is pretty good about supporting older units.

The boiler manual probably has a water spec. Viessmann seems to use the DIN standard as guideline.
